Thumper has found a new home....

Little Ms Thumper (a.k.a. Lumpling) has found a new forever home with Lynn and Peter in San Francisco, California. She will share her new household with 2 ragdoll kitties, a 13 year old Cardigan and a young adult Aussie. Lynn and Peter are super excited to have Thumper joining their home! I spayed her on Monday and she will fly out next week (weather permitting). I am sad that Thumper is leaving but I know that she will have a great life with Lynn and Peter. I just hope she behaves herself! :-)

Happy 1st Birthday to the Ditchas!!

I cannot believe the Ditchas are already a year old! Where has the time gone? I could not be prouder of all of the smooshies and everything they have accomplished so far! :-) I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them (show, companion or performance). So, I would like to officially extend Happy 1st Birthday wishes to Riley, Wendell, Killian, Rango, Meko, Zoey, Owen in CA, Owen in OR & Tegan! I hope you each have a very special day :-) Heck, you only turn 1 once!

Thumper is Looking for a Forever Home..

So, I have made the difficult decision to place Thumper in a new forever home. I had plans to include her in my program but have now decided to offer her to a performance/pet home. Thumper is an AKC Champion, is 2 years old, is house trained, knows basic obedience and some tricks, is current on vaccines and will be spayed before leaving for her new home. She is a very happy girl that is always willing to do what is asked of her! I think that she would do great in a home where she could pursue some type of performance work (herding, agility, rally, etc.) as she is very agile. Thumper gets along with other dogs and has been around cats but not on a regular basis. There are no children in my household but she does enjoy polite kids.
I really could go on and on about Thumper as she is a very fun girl! :-) If you are interested in adding her to your household please feel free to e-mail me at corgidoctor@gmail.com and tell me a little bit about yourself.

Owen in California Pictures

Owen's mom was nice enough to send some updated pictures of him enjoying himself immensely! Sable boy Owen (f.k.a. Yancey/Torch) is one of the Chase/Ditto smooshies from last summer (Riley's brother). Owen lives in California with Sarah Stevens. Sarah reports that Owen loves herding and is showing great instinct! :-) Sarah also does nosework with Mr. Owen. It seems like this whole litter has an abundance of herding instinct from daddy Chase! So proud of the smooshies! :-)
Look who is sitting pretty :-)

Exciting Happenings.....

This is turning in to a very exciting week for the Ditchas! Ditto is very proud of her smooshies and her baby daddy! :-)
On Saturday, I learned that Wendell successfully completed the requirements for his AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate. His mom tells me he was a big hit with all of the testers/trainers and is the smartest fluffy brindle boy around! :-)
I also found out from Penni today that Rango garnered a 4 point major today at the shows in New Mexico. He was Best Puppy and Best of Winners! Hopefully his mom will send me his show picture when she gets it. Rango must be taking after daddy Chase who was Best of Breed! :-)

National Is Almost Here!

It won't be long until I head off to the Cardigan Welsh Corgi National Specialty in Ohio. I am so super excited! I will be taking 2 of the Chase/Ditto puppies (Riley & Killian) to be shown by my long time handler Barbara Weiner. Killian's owners Kathleen & Kevin McCombs of Waco were nice enough to let me borrow Mr. Killian for this trip. I picked him up last weekend and he is having a great time with sister Riley and mom Ditto. :-) Penni also talked Rango's owners into letting him attend, so I will get to see him again too!
I will also be (along with breeder Teddy McDowell) boyfriend hunting for my blue girl Mimi. She is formally known as CH Camelot's Out of the Blue. She will be in heat sometime this coming June. Puppies should be born in August with colors being blue merle and black & white with tan or brindle points.  Mimi just turned 3, prelim. OFA hips good, CERF normal and is a brown eyed blue merle.

Riley Show News & Other Happenings...

So, I know it has been a little while since I updated the blog. It just seems time flies when one is super busy! I can hardly believe that the Ditchas will be 9 months old at the end of the month. I can still remember them as little furry slugs! Lol
Riley is back home on a little break from dog shows (with handler Barbara Weiner) since she has singled out on her points. She is now on the hunt for majors. I am super proud of my little smooshie! She accomplished all of her singles from the 6-9 month puppy class. :-) Riley will try for majors in Ft Worth next week and then it is off to the Cardigans National in Ohio at the end of April. Brindle brother Rango in New Mexico has garnered 1 point as well! :-) Rango and Killian will be attending the Nationals also.
Meko in San Francisco attended her first herding instinct test not too long ago and it seems the results were good. Mom Julie is very proud of the Fluffernutter and so am I! I see herding titles in Meko's future. She must take after daddy Chase.
Sable brother Owen (f.k.a. Torch) now resides in California with his new owner Sarah. She has been training him in canine nose work and will also be trying him out on sheep. From all accounts he is a very smart and sweet boy! Now there are 2 Owens in this litter. I guess I will have to refer to them as Owen in Oregon and Owen in California! :-o
